Local politicians should be ashamed of themselves for the condition of streets in Bay Ridge

Our local politicians are supposed to represent the people of the locality that elected them. They're supposed to improve our way of life. It sems as though they have forgotten their job. It apears they think that improving THEIR way of life is what they believe in. I'm talking about every last one of them. Even if they're not responsible for streets, they should be trying to get whoever is responsible to do their job.
73rd street and 3rd avenue. About a foot deep3rd and 5th avenues as well as the side streets are in terrible shape. You would think the biggest problem would be potholes and although 73rd street and 3rd avenue. About a foot deephey are plenty of them, the bigger problem in the constant construction on our streets. Construction crews leave the street in worse shape than it was before they did what work they needed to do. They're left bumpy and there are big dips that make you feel like you're on a bad roller coaster driving along at just a few miles an hour.

Then there are the actual newly paved roads. The strip the street, or score it with ome big scraper machine, and lay down new asphalt. Many times they will go around a sewer instead of doing it the proper way and raising the sewer. It's just plain lazy and now a man made pothole is created. I've seen some of these on a street that look liike they are FOUR inches deep, being paved over many times and never raising the sewer.

Whoever inspects these streets after a job or repaving is complateted, should be fired for allowing it to be left that way. Why do we need representatives who don't represent? I have a new way of voting. I am voting against incumbents from now on. I'm not a Republcan or Democrat, I'm a citizen who wants to have our local politicians do their job. What difference does it make who we vote for? Democrats have run this city for decades and it isn't going to change any time soon Republiacns don't bother finding good candidates, they just throw someone up there just to have someone there.
