made an ooops not only did the MindBenders hang out at the MongiaBoot but the "GrimReepers" were started there, MindBenders were Taboo, Brian Osborne,Animal, Bobby Borne, Greg, and many others. We had all kinds of kids hanging out there and there were the girls Janine, Jane who married Moelatch, Tommy Scapatchi and so many others who I'm sure will come back to mind

Hello BayRidge! WOW does this site bring back memories, some great some not so great but we take the good with the bad. We lived on 65th street and Fort Hamilton P'way and my brother Joey and cousin Jr knew many "kids" back in the 60's and got into lots of trouble, the stories they told me, too phunny! Joe tells me there are folks asking about them on this site and one said Joe is dead and Jr is living on the Island, wrong! Jr died in jail and Joe is doing great living on the island with his wife of 30 odd years!! blows my mind too.
Does anyone remember the "Mongia Boot" on 86th street and 13th Ave? or the bikers that hung out there called "The Mindbenders"? well some became Pagans and some Hells Angels and most just kept riding solo. Let's see there was Moelatch, Vinny Fadue, Larry Lap, Susie cream cheese Karen Black Philly Q who does the boog-a-loo and loves you LOL anyway I have many memories and would love to share them.

Back in the 60's, 70's, and early 80's my mom's family lived in bayridge. They lived in "The White House" on ovington. The family name was "Low". Im sure that anyone that lived there back then knew them. Exspecially my uncle Johnny Low, aka "Sky". My grandfather is Harry Low, my two aunts are Beverly and April Low. Their parents(my great grandparents) are Harry and June Low. Never met my granfather Harry Low, Uncle Sky, or my aunt April. If you know them feel free to message me. love to hear how you know them. Thanks for reading.

We hung around Hinche's and the Green Tea Room in the early 60's. We were young (13-15) but it was a great place. The singing groups would perform in the spring and summer, and it was an ideal place to base from. We'd go to the pool room on 5th, between 86th & 87th, and the bowling alley on 88th. Life was good! Anyone remember the summer night in '60 or '61 when the cops picked up everyone on 86th St and marched us up to the Station on the corner of 5th & 86th? They took our names, etc. and held us for about 2 hours, and then just released us. One guy jumped out of a window and the cops couldn't figure out why they counted 47 and only had data on 46. Only in Brooklyn.

In 72 and 73, I was the dance-maniac of Bananafish Park. Stretched the flex over to Dingbats, where no dancing was allowed...until one night they put on James Brown for me. Soon everyone was dancing...it was one of many wild and happy nights in Bay Ridge!

I'm Ellen's daughter I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if they knew her or any of the McGuire’s Jack, Ellen, Dan, Jeannine, or Thomas they grew up on 3rd ave. and all went to Our Lady of Angels. This is all I hear about at family parties and I think it would be good for her.
I think Ellen graduated from Ft. Hamilton High School class of 1976
Also if you knew the McGowan’s Frank, Maureen, And Kevin. I REALLY think he would like to get in touch with old friends.
